A Word from the Manager – First Week Back

We have had a great first week back and the children have settled really well after a long Summer break, I would like to extend our warm welcome to our new starter’s.

As of Monday 9th September we will be introducing our letter, number and colour of the week, we focus on this throughout the week at many different times, looking at and talking about each and all of them in activities, circle times etc.

Also from Monday we will be doing “Show and Tell” again. We will have this as a circle time activity every Monday. If your child could bring in just one item beginning with the letter of the week to show their friends that would be great, don’t panic if you get to pre-school and have forgotten, we will always ensure that we help your child find something from pre-school though they do prefer to bring something of their own, the main aim behind this activity is not only to support learning of letter recognition but to encourage your child to gain confidence in speaking in a group, take turns and respect and listen to others to develop their social skills.

Next week, if your child would like to bring in something from their holidays, perhaps if they have been away or on a day trip and have souvenirs, post cards or photo’s etc. if they can bring them in, any day of the week we will use these in circle time throughout the week, this is in addition to Monday’s show and tell.

I have put on the notice board a Parent Help rota, we are always very grateful for any help as particularly when we are attending to snack preparation or toileting needs, having an extra pair of hands can make such a difference to us and the children so please put your name down if you have a spare morning. On a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday we would also appreciate anyone who wishes to help on an afternoon session.

We do have a notice on the door with what we have done in the session however, although we do are best sometimes we just get too busy to fill it in so pleas ask if you want any information.

We are all committed to providing a fun, exciting and safe environment for the children, we are all booked on many training courses over the coming months to ensure we are up to date with the latest EYFS knowledge and requirements.
